4slicesof bread (sourdough, whole wheat, or your favorite type)
4slicesof bacon, cooked
½pear,thinly sliced
4slicesof your favorite cheese (cheddar, brie, or Gruyère work well)
2tablespoonsraspberry jam
1tablespoonbutter, softened
Instructions
Spread the butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, in a skillet or on a griddle over medium heat.
Top each slice with two slices of cheese.
Divide the pear slices and cooked bacon evenly between the two sandwiches and place on top of the cheese.
Spread the raspberry jam on the remaining two slices of bread and place them, jam-side down, on top of the bacon and pear.
Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Remove from heat, cut in half, and serve warm.
Notes
You can use any type of jam or preserves you like. Fig jam or apricot preserves would also be delicious.
If you don't have fresh pears, you can use canned pears, drained and patted dry.
For a richer flavor, you can use mayonnaise instead of butter.
