rolled oats

cup
water (or milk for a creamier texture)

banana,
sliced
1
tablespoon
butter (or coconut oil for vegan)
1
tablespoon
brown sugar
2-3
dried
figs, chopped
Toasted
coconut
flakes, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, bring water (or milk) to a boil.
Add oats and a pinch of salt. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until cooked through.
While the oats are cooking, heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add banana slices and brown sugar to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until bananas are caramelized and soft, about 5 minutes.
Stir in chopped figs and cook for 1 minute more.
Pour the cooked oatmeal into a bowl.
Top with the caramelized bananas and figs.
Sprinkle with toasted coconut flakes, if desired
Notes
You can use any type of dried figs you like, such as black mission figs or Turkish figs.
Feel free to add other toppings, such as chopped nuts, seeds, or a drizzle of honey.
If you don't have toasted coconut flakes, you can use plain coconut flakes or omit them altogether.
