  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk or half-and-half

Prepare the filling:

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add your choice of cooked meat (bacon, sausage, or ham) and cook briefly to warm through.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk or half-and-half, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread the cooked meat and onions evenly in the bottom of the pie crust. Sprinkle over the shredded cheese.

Bake the quiche:

  • Gently pour the egg mixture over the meat and cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until the center is set and the crust is golden brown.
  • Let cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Get creative with fillings: Try adding sautéed mushrooms, spinach, roasted red peppers, or other favorite veggies.
  • Spice it up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce for some kick.
  • Make it ahead: Prepare the quiche up to the baking step, then cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake in the morning for a stress-free breakfast.
